El ver el otro post sobre artes marciales me hizo recordar que escribí esto hace meses y nunca vio la luz en este foro. Lo postie en el foro de WW ni bien lo termine, me dieron un par de comentarios para mejorarlo pero nunca llegue a terminarlo debido a que entre en Limit Break debido a la cantidad de reglas y charms estúpidos que le agregaron a Exalted en el último tiempo, lo que provocó mi distanciamiento del juego. Es más, alguno de los Charms ni siquiera tiene nombre.

En fin, acá les dejo el estilo a ver que les parece, aunque creo que el nivel de poder es un poco elevado. Tal vez lo puedan utilizar en sus juegos si lo balancean un poco.


Weapons and Armor: The martial artist can use the khatar to emulate the scorpion’s sting, as such Charms of this style treat attacks made with such weapons as unarmed attacks. Similarly, the style is compatible with light armor to help the martial artist emulate the predator’s exoskeleton.

Complementary Skills: Practitioners of this style need to be subtle and know how to walk unnoticed; as such they need at least 2 dots in Stealth before learning any Charm from this Style. Disciples of the Scorpion also need to be patient to wait for the right moment to strike their prey; as such they need Temperance 3 or greater. If the Virtue is reduced below this minimum, the martial artist cannot use any Scorpion Style Charms until raising it to at least 3-dots.


Ultimate Predator Senses
Cost: 2m; Mins: Martial Arts 3, Essence 2; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious
Duration: One scene
Prerequisite Charms: None
Scorpions are masters of perception since they have to sense their helpless preys on the edge of night to wait until the right moment to attack them. For the rest of the scene, the martial artist gains the benefits of the Night Vision mutation as his eyes turn completely black and he can sense the exact position of anyone within (Essence) yards for as long as they are standing on the same surface than him by perceiving the vibrations on the floor. This allows him to ignore any penalties due to poor visibility (or even blindness) when striking sensed opponents.

Those victims who look directly into the scorpion’s eyes are lost, since his alien coldness disturbs them with paralyzing fear. If Scorpion Form is active, the character’s opponents reduce their DVs by the martial artist’s Temperance against his attacks unless they pay a willpower point to ignore this natural mental influence for the rest of the scene. Targets incapable of seeing the martial artist’s eyes also ignore this penalty.

Evasiveness of an Alien Logic
Cost: 4m; Mins: Martial Arts 4, Essence 2; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: One scene
Prerequisite Charms: [Senses Enhancer]
Disciples of the Scorpion stay calm even against the mightiest of opponents for they know how to use that state of mind to improve their reflexes. Each time the character takes a Guard action during the scene, he adds his Temperance to his DVs.

[Aim Enhancer]
Cost: 4m; Mins: Martial Arts 4, Essence 2; Type: Reflexive

Duration: One scene
Prerequisite Charms: [Senses Enhancer]
The scorpion is a patient predator which studies his target before delivering a single fatal blow. For the rest of the scene the martial artist can add up to (Martial Art) dices to his attack rolls due to taking Aim actions.

Under the Veil of Shadows
Cost: 6m; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 2; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: One scene
Prerequisite Charms: [Guard Enhancer]
Each time the martial artist takes a Guard action during the scene he completely vanishes from all senses save essence sight or direct touch. This effect ends as soon as the character takes other actions besides keeping the Guard (he doesn’t reappear between different Guard actions). If he interrupts the Guard to make an attack, the first blow in the flurry becomes unexpected if the target didn’t detect him while invisible.

[Detect Flaw]
Cost: 6m; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 2; Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: [Aim Enhancer]
The character can activate this Charm while taking an Aim action to better study his prey. The martial artist makes a Perception + Martial Arts roll against the target’s Essence. If the character succeeds he knows the number of Charms with a Flaw of Invulnerability (or similar effects, like Imperfections) the target has and learns the Flaw attached to them.

Scorpion Form
Cost: 5m; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 3; Type: Simple (DV -0)
Keywords: None
Duration: One scene
Prerequisite Charms: [Detect Flaw], Under the Veil of Shadows
It offers the following benefits:
*Any Guard action the character takes also counts as an Aim action.
*The martial artist gains 2 successes for each die he would have gained due to an Aim action.
*All his unarmed attacks inflict lethal and piercing damage.

Irresistible Mysticism Attraction
Cost: 5m; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 3; Type: Simple
Keywords: Combo-OK, Compulsion
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Scorpion Form
The character activates this Charm against anyone within (Essence x10) yards that hasn’t noticed him during the scene, making an (Appearance + Martial Arts) roll against the target’s Dodge MDV. If he succeeds the victims feels urge to Move toward the martial artist’s position for up to (Essence) ticks or until reaching the spot. This unnatural mental influence costs 2 willpower points to resist for the rest of the scene.

[Fatal Blow]
Cost: 6m, 1wp; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 3; Type: Simple (DV -2)
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Scorpion Form
The character makes a single unblockable attack which doubles its raw damage before soak is applied and completely ignores the target’s Hardness.

[Retreat]
Cost: 4m; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 3; Type: Reflexive (Step 8 )
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Scorpion Form
Once the scorpion has injected its venom it retreats until its prey dies. The character may activate this Charm after the damage of a successful attack is applied but before his opponent can make any counterattack to reflexively move backwards up to (Dexterity + Martial Arts) yards. The martial artist is also considered to be taking a Guard action for Charm purposes until his next action.

[Poison Attack]
Cost: 6m; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 4; Type: Supplemental
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious, Poison
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: [Fatal Blow]
The target can activate this Charm to supplement an unarmed attack to inject deadly venom inside the target’s body. If the attack hits, it inflicts normal damage and the victim is afflicted by a dose of poison with the following traits: (Essence x2) A/action, Toxicity 5L, —/—, -5. A target painfully killed by this toxin experiences how his heart, lungs and brain liquefy into a crimson paste that pours out from the orifices of his body.

Merciless Predator Mimicry
Cost: ---; Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 5; Type: Permanent
Keywords: Form-Enhancing
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Irresistible Mysticism Attraction, [Retreat], [Poison Attack]
This Charm permanently improves Scorpion Form with the following benefits:
*For has long as the martial artist dons Scorpion Form, he can invoke any Reflexive Charm from Scorpion Style as an innate capability that doesn’t count as a Charm activation.
*The successes obtained from taking an Aim action are also added to the raw damage of the attack.
*The action when the character invokes Scorpion Form he is considered to be taking a Guard action for Charm purposes.
*Scorpion Form’s cost never increases the martial artist’s Anima Banner, even when activated with Peripheral motes. The character may extend this benefit to all Scorpion Style Charms he activates on a given tick by spending a single willpower point.

Temperance??? por qué??? los escorpiones no me parecen muy temperanzosos, qué tal Stealth?

es decir que tu aim action puede durar=MA? es correcta mi asepción?

Este te da un stealth perfecto por 3 ticks, no excesivamente overpowered pero hacen falta algunos parametros de limitantes, o casos en los que no podría funcionar o una tirada de resistencia, no crees?

Al contrario, los escorpiones son algunos de los insectos más pacientes que hay. Pueden aguantar horas y horas ocultos en un agujero sin moverce y en completo silencio hasta encontrar el momento oportuno para atacar a su victima con pinzas y agijon.

Si, la idea es que se pueda realizar un Aim de hasta (Martial Arts) ticks.

En cuanto al encantamiento de Stealth, no me agradan los Charms que requieren tiradas para activarce cuando no son acciones opuestas, lo único que eso provoca es alentar todabía más las cosas en un juego que ya es bastante complicado de por si.

como referente aquí ponga la definición de templanza:

templanza.

(Del lat. temperantĭa).

1. f. Moderación, sobriedad y continencia.

2. f. Benignidad del aire o clima de un país.

3. f. Pint. Armonía y buena disposición de los colores.

4. f. Rel. Una de las cuatro virtudes cardinales, que consiste en moderar los apetitos y el uso excesivo de los sentidos, sujetándolos a la razón.

5. f. ant. temple (‖ punto de dureza o elasticidad).


La cosa es que no equivale a paciencia. Por ello creo que lo que un escorpión refleja es más bien determinación, compromiso, destreza o simplemente hambre. El estilo me recuerda al tema de los estilos animales pre-grulla, donde los charms están basados más en el animal y menos en las aluciones antropogeneradas que se les atribuyen. Como su creador, pues tu eres quien sabe exactamente qué quiere del estilo.

En otro tenor, propongo que los estilos de MA basados en un animal posoñoso deje a un lado esos charms de "la esencia venenosa con stats siempre mediocres que cualquiera puede tolerar" <-- he visto muchas ejecuciones de esto, y suelen o estar underpowered o si no, son tremendamente confusas de usar. Por qué no en los estilo de animal venenoso, en "armas del estilo" viene un requisito de "armas que han sido previamente impregnadas de algún veneno" y san se acabó el charm de hacer venenos (que hay como 3 o 4 que recuerde entre oficiales y fanmade). De esta forma se usan los charms del setting! y exhortas al jugador a usar, crear, buscar o modificar nuevos venenos.

mantenerse ante las inclemencias es muestra de Temple
el resistir impulsos es temple
el quedarse quieto es temple...


en fin...
aunque mas que paciente o templado hay que tener conviccion para quedarse ahi para esperar a tu presa

Pero por más que tengas la convicción de hacerlo, si no tenés la templanza para mantenerte calmo no sirve para nada. Conan era un tipo con mucha convicción y no lo veo esperando 4 horas para poder atacar a un guardia por la espalda.
