Este estilo lo armo The Demented One, usario del foro de White Wolf. Me parecio interesante y lindo, asi que lo posteo aquí.

Pale Rivers of Nirvana Style

The martial arts cling to concepts. Every style, from the lowest of the terrestrial arts to the Blossom of the Perfected Lotus, is rooted in the emulation of some physical or abstract form. Their techniques are derived from copied motions, emulated behaviors, and allegorical techniques that interpret complex concepts. This is their key weakness. The lower styles are limited to rote imitation, barring them from advanced techniques of essence manipulation, while the esoteric metaphors of the Sidereal styles lack the concrete reality to create direct, powerful techniques.

This is the thesis of the Pale Rivers of Nirvana Style. It emulates nothing, breaking the ties of attachment that limit the Perfected Lotus. Its defensive techniques are among the most powerful that martial arts can afford, using superior enlightened style to negate any possible offensive. Despite the scorn most Sidereals feel for the enlightened self-righteousness of its stylists, many are drawn in by the unique defensive paradigm of the style, though they scorn its pretentious dogma.

Weapons and Armor: Weapons cannot be used with any of this style’s Charms, and are in fact largely useless to a student of this defensive style. Armor is likewise completely incompatible with this style, denying the absolute freedom of movement needed to utilize its defensive katas.

Complementary Abilities: Before a character can learn the Pale Rivers of Nirvana Style, they must have at least three dots of the Dodge Ability, providing the basic knowledge of defensive techniques that this style builds on.

The Student’s Sutra of Escape: Once, there was an unhappy maiden...

Being Non-Being Stance
Cost: 4m
Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 4
Type: Reflexive (Step 2)
Keywords: Combo-OK
Duration: One tick
Prerequisite Charms: None

...who could not bear to be a maiden.

Students and novices learn to dodge attacks with swift steps and sure eyes. The enlightened master has need of neither. She need not see, she need not move. She simply is not struck. The martial artist may activate this Charm in response to any attack. She may apply her Dodge DV against all attacks made against her that tick, even if it would normally be impossible to. Undodgeable or unexpected attacks may be defended against as if they lacked those qualities, and the martial artist may dodge attacks regardless of any condition that would prevent her from doing so, such as being clinched or asleep. Against attacks that automatically hit, this Charm affords no innate defense–but if the martial artist activates it in a Combo with a Charm that affords a perfect defense, that Charm is capable of defending against the automatic attack, even if it would not normally be applicable. If the martial artist has Pale Rivers of Nirvana Form active, they may activate this Charm as an innate power, which does not count as Charm activation.

Illimitable Bhumi of Compassion
Cost: 4m
Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 4
Type: Reflexive (Step 2)
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Being Non-Being Stance

She slipped her bonds and fetters,

All things that live can be led to enlightenment, if only they can be taught to free themselves from the ropes of attachment and suffering. The martial artist may activate this Charm in response to any attack they are aware of, allowing them to defend against it even if it is not made against them. This functions exactly as a Defend Other action, except that the martial artist uses her Dodge DV to defend instead of her Parry DV, and it only defends against a single attack. Distance is no limitation to the martial artist–so long as she can perceive the attack, she may intercede to defend its victim. The manifestation of this Charm is Obvious, but its exact nature is left to the player to determine. Some martial artists unleash great displays of enlightened essence to defend their ward, marshaling totemic guardians or mandala-barriers against their foes, while others prefer an inexplicable and mysterious defense, simply dodging the attack, despite it not being aimed at them.

Without Words, Without the Wordless

Prerequisite Charms: Being Non-Being Stance

and looked to the distant sky.

All conflict is born of suffering, the suffering of all living things. To end it, the enlightened soul must open the eyes of her enemies to the cause of their own suffering, answering hatred with compassion. The martial artist may activate this Charm whenever they are attacked, assuming a meditative posture and speaking a mantra of deep truth to their foe. They roll their (Charisma + Dodge), adding automatic successes equal to their Compassion to the roll. If the rolled successes exceed the attacker’s Dodge MDV, the martial artist exerts a Compulsion on them, forcing them to refrain from all violent or aggressive action for the rest of the scene. In addition, the martial artist may grant them a single dot of Compassion, as a training effect. This unnatural mental influence may be resisted for a cost of three Willpower, and the target is freed of the Compulsion if they are attacked. If the target does not resist this unnatural mental influence, he may still choose not to accept the experience debt for any dots of Compassion granted to him. If he does not, they disappear at the end of the scene.

One Hundred Negations
Cost: 15m, 1wp
Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 4
Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious
Duration: One scene
Prerequisite Charms: Illimitable Bhumi of Compassion

But running achieved nothing,

One cannot defeat the enlightened master with conflict and strife. To oppose her is to oppose an infinite sea–only by seeking peace can victory be won. The martial adds her Compassion to the dice pool used to calculate her Dodge DV. In addition, the martial artist may channel a point of Willpower through her Compassion to negate any Crippling, Poison, Shaping, or Sickness effect that would harm her.

Five Skandha Renunciation

for she could not bring herself to flee.

Clinging to the self only burdens the soul, snaring it in the lie of existence. Those weighed down beneath their own false selves are as unmoving stone before the enlightened soul, unable to ever match her grace. Any action that is enhanced by channeling Conviction or a stunt that aligns with an Intimacy or Motivation is made Obvious to the martial artist’s senses, as are any Charms enhancing that action. Any stunt that enhances an attempt to dodge allows the martial artist to recover a channel of Compassion in place of other awards if it succeeds, and she may channel her Compassion without needing to spend a point of Willpower.

Pale Rivers of Nirvana Form
Cost: 12m
Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 5
Type: Simple
Keywords: Emotion Form-type, Obvious
Duration: One scene
Prerequisite Charms: Five Skandha Renunciation, One Hundred Negations

”How can I leave everyone else behind?” she asked.

Emptying herself of all attachment, all the burdens of self, the martial artist becomes infinitely light, a spiritual embodiment of a higher truth. She may move with perfect grace, capable of standing upon a lotus petal or walking over water. In addition to granting her perfect balance, this allows her to fly, hover, and otherwise move without regard for gravity. The enlightened master’s grace is spiritual as well, allowing her to reveal the emptiness of violence with her actions. Any character that attacks the martial artist and fails to overcome her Dodge DV, or is perfectly dodged, loses a point of temporary Willpower as they gaze into samsara revealed, seeing vague and inscrutable intimations of their own insignificance. This unnatural mental influence cannot strip more than one point of Willpower from an attacker on a single tick. Characters with no Willpower remaining instead gain an Intimacy of commitment to the ideals of pacifism, as an Emotion effect.

Awoken from Ten Thousand Dreams
Cost: 14m (+1wp)
Mins: Martial Arts 5, Essence 5
Type: Reflexive (Step 2)
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious
Duration: One tick
Prerequisite Charms: Pale Rivers of Nirvana Form

The Elder Sutra of Escape: She sat beneath a sacred tree, and wept.

Existence is impermanence, all things nothing but transient images cast upon the face of the world, like the flickering shadows cast by a fire in the night. Opening her eyes to the deep cosmic truths of samsara, the martial artist lets the violence of the world pass through her, its transient destruction incapable of harming her eternal essence. The martial artist may perfectly dodge any attack she is aware of for a single tick. It does not allow her to dodge undodgeable attacks. If the martial artist has Pale Rivers of Nirvana Form active, they may spend an additional point of Willpower to raise this Charm’s duration to one action. This Charm cannot defend against any attack enhanced by channeling Compassion, as a unique Flaw of Invulnerability. While it can effortlessly turn aside violence and strife, it is powerless against an enemy whose heart knows only all-encompassing compassion.

Sermon of the Burning World

Prerequisite Charms: Awoken from Ten Thousand Dreams

Seven hundred demons descended from the sky, but they could not kill her,

Attachment is the cause of all suffering, the flame that burns at all souls. Separation from what is pleasing is suffering, and union with what is displeasing is suffering. Gazing upon a student whom she would instruct in this lesson, the martial artist opens his eyes to the burning suffering he inflicts upon himself. The martial artist rolls (Charisma + Martial Arts) at a difficulty of her student’s dodge MDV. On a successful roll, the martial artist exerts unnatural mental influence on her student, opening his eyes to the truth. They suffer levels of unsoakable bashing damage equal to their (Conviction x Number of Intimacies), to a minimum of (Essence) levels of damage. This damage cannot spill over past Incapacitated to deal lethal wounds. Intimacies to ideals, philosophies, religions, or similar immaterial concepts are not counted by this Charm. The student may spend three points of Willpower to immediately break any or all Intimacies he possesses, and he suffers no damage for the Intimacies he forsakes. This unnatural mental influence can only be resisted by forsaking all material Intimacies.

Spokes of the Unmoving Wheel
Cost: 15m, 1wp
Mins: Martial Arts 6, Essence 6
Type: Reflexive (Step 2)

Prerequisite Charms: Awoken from Ten Thousand Dreams

nor could they seduce the maiden.

A wheel cannot turn without the space between its spokes, without the emptiness of its form. So too is the soul, unable to seek enlightenment without emptiness, without freedom from desire and attachment. Gently demonstrating this lesson, the enlightened master instills emptiness into her student’s souls. This Charm may be activated in response to any attack the the martial artist is aware of, making all Charms enhancing the attack Obvious to his senses. The martial artist may choose to cancel the effect of a single such Charm, tracing out a wheel of pale fire with her hands as she counters the violent essence.

If the martial artist is not satisfied with this first lesson, she make a counterattack in Step 9, causing the wheel of essence to revolve ceaselessly, throwing off sparks of cosmic fire and shimmering lotus petals. She rolls (Essence + Martial Arts) at a difficulty of the minimum Essence of the Charm she negated. If she succeeds, her student cannot activate that Charm for the rest of the scene, as a shaping effect.

Humble the Demon-King
Cost: 20m, 2wp
Mins: Martial Arts 6, Essence 6
Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK, Compulsion, Shaping
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Awoken from Ten Thousand Dreams

In the end, they asked how she could sit, and weep, and seek enlightenment.

Some students must be humbled before they can be properly taught. The martial artist may activate this Charm whenever she defeats an enemy–whether by knocking them unconscious, or simply forcing a surrender or concession from them. She exerts unnatural mental influence on her defeated enemy, compelling them to seek instruction under her. This Compulsion effect may be resisted for three points of Willpower–but that is only the first of many lessons to be taught. The student’s self-interest undermines his every action as a shaping effect. Whenever he takes an action that is enhanced by channeling Conviction or a stunt that aligns with an Intimacy or Motivation, he suffers an external penalty equal to his own Conviction. Should he fail such an action, the unnatural mental influence exerted by this Charm is reasserted, although it may still be resisted normally. No amount of Willpower can permanently break this influence, but Charms such as Transcendent Hero’s Meditation that are capable of terminating existing unnatural mental influence or shaping effects can negate it. The martial artist may also end this influence whenever she is satisfied, and her death likewise ends it.

Instruction in Infinite Accomplishments
Cost: 5m, 3wp
Mins: Martial Arts 6, Essence 6
Type: Reflexive
Keywords: Combo-OK, Compulsion, Training
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Awoken from Ten Thousand Dreams

She said nothing, but touched the earth beneath her.

Before a student can walk the path to enlightenment, they must first be shown the road. The martial artist may activate this Charm at the end of any scene of combat, using the forms and katas of their style to teach those who they fought against. The martial artist may enlighten any of the characters he fought with one of the following benefits as a training effect, and may choose a different benefit for each character. He may raise a student’s Martial Arts rating up to normal maximum, may raise a student’s rating in any one Virtue up to five, may raise a student’s permanent Willpower by one dot, or may teach a student any Martial Arts Charm he knows that the student is capable of learning.

In addition, the martial artist exerts unnatural mental influence on all characters he trains, causing them to gain a second Motivation of “Be.” This influence may be resisted for five points of Willpower, but a character who does so also forgoes the training. If a student does not resist this unnatural mental influence, he may still choose not to accept the experience debt for the Training effect, in which case he does not gain its benefits. When the martial artist dies, he may activate this Charm at no cost and without counting as Charm activation, allowing him to bestow one final lesson to all who witness his death.

An Answer to Suffering
Cost: 20m, 2wp
Mins: Martial Arts 7, Essence 7
Type: Reflexive (Step 8 )
Keywords: Combo-OK, Compulsion, Obvious, Shaping, Touch
Duration: (Essence) actions
Prerequisite Charms: Humbling the Demon-King, Instruction in Infinite Accomplishments, Sermon of the Burning World, Spokes of the Unmoving Wheel

Only silence remained.

The wise master leads his students along the path to end all suffering. The martial artist may activate this Charm in Step 8 of any successful unarmed attack. If the attack would deal any levels of damage at all, it instead opening her student’s eyes to enlightenment. The student, willing or not, disappears, becoming neither material nor immaterial–he simply has no bodily existence. The student retains their normal powers of perception, but are limited to sight and hearing. He cannot target others with physical effect or social attacks, but neither can he be targeted by any physical effect, or any social attack other than those made with Performance. They may still act normally, and cross space at their normal speed. They may still activate Charms, so long as their function is not incompatible with the limitations of his present state. No effect can precisely reveal the location of the student, although certain effects can reveal his presence within a location or area, so long as they do not depend on their target having a material or immaterial physical existence. The martial artist may always choose to target himself with this effect, though he is not spared from the risks of doing so.

On each of the target’s actions, he must succeed on a Conviction roll at difficulty 3 to do anything at all. Should he fail, he is rendered Inactive until his next action tick–and worse still, he loses a point of Willpower, his ego washed away in the pale rivers of nirvana. Should a character’s temporary Willpower fall to zero while he is subject to this Charm, he remains in the transcendent state this Charm creates forevermore. He loses his Motivation, can no longer perceive the world, and can no longer take any actions or activate any Charms, effectively removing him from existence in all meaningful ways. If he is Exalted, his exaltation leaves him, as if he had died–for he essentially has. A character may also voluntarily choose to enter this enlightenment while under the effects of this Charm, although no unnatural mental influence is capable of forcing him to do so. Should the target of this effect last its entire duration without losing all Willpower, he reappears at the end in a burst of cosmic flame, his physical form shaping itself out of nothing at his current location.
